Dragon & Phoenix lantern drones — auspicious symbols as the highlight of the Festival of Light & Heritage ceremony opening
The night sky of March 4 at Hoi An Memories Land will transform into a vibrant artistic canvas as Dragon & Phoenix lantern drones shine brilliantly in midair alongside dazzling fireworks and a large-scale live performance stage featuring hundreds of performers below. All elements will blend together to create a spectacular moment, recreating the prosperous spirit of Hoi An trading port in the 17th century.
The Dragon & Phoenix lantern drones also represent a proud tribute to East Asian culture, as these symbols embody auspiciousness and prosperity, carrying wishes for the best possible beginning of Spring 2026. Reimagining traditional symbols through modern technological language is considered a creative highlight in the heritage storytelling approach of Hoi An Memories Land.

Large-scale artistic lantern space themed “Vermilion Seal Ship – A Heritage Painting” recreates the flourishing Faifo trading port
Beyond the spectacle in the sky, within the heritage space of Hoi An Memories Land, large-scale lantern installations are designed as fragments of memory connected together to form a vivid heritage painting in an open-air setting.
The entire destination is illuminated, guiding visitors into a world where memory and the present intersect, leading guests into the historical flow of ancient Hoi An. The interaction between the ground stage and the illuminated sky promises emotionally powerful climax moments for audiences.

After the opening night, the Festival of Light & Heritage 2026 will continue until April 30 with an ongoing series of cultural and artistic activities. The large-scale lantern installation themed “Vermilion Seal Ship – A Heritage Painting” recreates the vibrant Faifo trading port through artistic lighting, alongside traditional craft village experiences, handicraft workshops, and daily artistic performances for visitors.
The cultural and artistic minishow series is a distinctive experience of the festival

With the combination of heritage, art, and contemporary performance technology, the festival is expected to become a new nighttime experiential highlight of Hoi An, attracting both domestic and international visitors during this spring season.
